Academics

Philosophy of Education

VCCA recognizes that the best educational opportunity occurs when parents, staff, and students all take responsibility for their respective roles. Our students should be educationally and spiritually equipped to encounter the world around them in such a way that they can be leaders in their communities. We recognize that each student at our school is a different and specific member of the body of Christ, and each student should be encouraged according to his or her gifts. One effective means of reaching our students is the use of classical methodology, which instills students with the tools they need to be lifelong learners. Our students should leave our school with a thorough knowledge of our Western heritage and the ability to interpret information in a logical fashion. We make it a goal to have small class sizes so each student receives the attention that he or she needs for educational success. We want all our students to know that they are made in the image and likeness of God, and they have been set apart by God for a purpose. God has given all of us, parents, staff, and students, the academic and spiritual tools we need to be a light in a world of academic and spiritual darkness. This is what we are called to do.
